Seoul City Youth Policy Proposal Window Named 'Cheongnyeon Jeongchaek Je-an Tong' Selected
Online Platform for Youth Policy Proposals Open to All Citizens
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 14th that among a total of 1,851 submissions for the naming contest of the online youth policy proposal platform, 'Cheongnyeon Jeongchaek Jeantong' was selected as the grand prize winner.
'Cheongnyeon Jeongchaek Jeantong' means a 'channel (tong) where youth policies in all fields can be proposed.' It was selected as the grand prize winner with the highest score based on evaluation criteria including originality, popularity, suitability, and connectivity, and will be used as the name of the online youth policy proposal platform starting in March.
The Seoul online youth policy proposal platform is built within the 'Cheongnyeon Mongttang Jeongbotong' website and is a service where anyone interested can participate by proposing new youth policies or improvements to existing youth policies.
Policies proposed through the online youth policy proposal platform will be compiled and delivered to the relevant departments even if they do not receive support from 50 or more people in voting (allowing for review by the relevant department even if the proposals are abstract). These proposals will also be provided as ideas for policy proposals aimed at youth autonomous budgeting, and the policies proposed through the platform will be actively utilized.
Additionally, to address the issue of receiving many complaint-type proposals and to ensure that anyone can easily propose youth policies while maintaining high-quality proposals, a policy proposal writing guide (manual) will be posted on the online youth policy proposal platform to increase the likelihood of adoption of proposed policies.
For reference, besides the online youth policy proposal platform, Seoul operates various youth participation channels such as the Seoul Youth Policy Network, Youth-Friendly Committee, Future Seoul Contest, and Youth Policy Contest to reflect the opinions of youth on city administration.
