Gyeongsang National University Holds Orientation for New and Transfer Students
Held Both In-Person and Online... Remote Students Can Participate
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University will hold the ‘2023 Academic Year New and Transfer Student Orientation’ at 10 a.m. on the 14th in the main auditorium of the GNU Convention Center on the Gajwa Campus. This event is the first substantial face-to-face event held in four years since 2019.
The orientation is held to strengthen the capabilities of new and transfer students and to help them have a safe and enjoyable university life. It also helps them quickly adapt to university life and cultivate basic competencies as pioneering talents of Gyeongsang National University. Guidance on the curriculum of colleges and departments, as well as pre-advising for first-semester course registration, will also be provided on this day.
In particular, this event targets prospective university students who have been admitted to Gyeongsang National University for the 2023 academic year, and it will be held simultaneously both face-to-face and online (real-time streaming) to allow participation from students living far away. Gyeongsang National University expects about 1,500 participants in person and about 2,000 participants online.
The event will proceed in the following order: ▲ Screening of university promotional video ▲ Club performances (dance and rap) ▲ National anthem ceremony ▲ Sand art performance ▲ Awards ceremony for student policy proposal contest ▲ President’s welcome speech ▲ Introduction to university life and student self-governing organizations ▲ Invited lecture (For an Exciting University Life ? Professor Han Sang-deok, Department of Chinese Language and Literature) ▲ Experiences shared by employed alumni ▲ Guest singer performance.
Jung, a freshman from the College of Humanities, said, “It seems like a great opportunity to visit the school I will be attending in advance and meet my peers. I am really looking forward to an enjoyable university life.”
