Located in Gyeonghwa-dong, this site was selected in 2021 for the Urban Regeneration New Deal Project competition and is being developed as a community space for local residents to revitalize the local community and improve resident welfare.
Next, Mayor Hong visited the site where a container storage yard was established on an abandoned factory site at the entrance of Buam Village in Macheon, which has caused complaints. The establishment of the container storage yard led to complaints regarding noise, vibration, fine dust, and concerns about road safety accidents. In response, Changwon City has issued an order to restore the site to its original condition to the related company and is actively pursuing meetings between complainants and the district mayor, but is facing difficulties in resolving the issue.
While inspecting the two complaint sites, Mayor Hong listened to residents’ opinions and instructed the relevant officials to “thoroughly prepare firm solutions from the perspective of the residents as the demand side.”
Mayor Hong also visited the ‘Ungcheon Kiln Site Exhibition Hall,’ a major tourist attraction in the Jinhae area, received a report on the exhibition hall’s operations, and discussed activation plans such as increasing visitors. This site, opened in 2011, has established itself as a cultural space where visitors can experience historic site tours, exhibition viewing, and pottery making.
