Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency Provides 9 Million KRW per Manuscript to Support Quality Books
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency will begin accepting applications for the '2023 Excellent Publishing Content Production Support Project' from the 17th to guarantee authors' creative activities and strengthen publishers' production capacity.
They will select 140 manuscripts and assist in publishing paper books by the end of November this year. Up to 9 million KRW will be supported per manuscript.
The application target is unpublished domestic creative manuscripts that can be published between the end of May and November 30.
Applications will be accepted from the 17th until March 3. After applying online through the Publication Promotion Agency's website, applicants must submit by mail by the deadline.
Evaluation will be conducted in two stages of blind review by appointed external experts. To promote balanced development of the publishing industry, 30% of the selected works will be allocated to single-person or regional publishers and young applicants.

A representative of the Publication Promotion Agency stated, "Since the number of supported manuscripts has increased by 40 compared to last year, reflecting the opinions of project clients, the maximum number of manuscripts that can be submitted has been expanded to 4. We also plan to simplify procedures by eliminating some unnecessary document submissions during the application and settlement process to increase participation and convenience for authors and publishers."
