Naver Donates $1 Million in Relief Funds to Turkey and Syria
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver announced on the 13th that it will donate 1 million dollars in relief funds to aid the recovery efforts for the damage caused in Turkey and Syria.
The relief funds will be delivered to the Korean Red Cross and the United Nations Refugee Agency through Happybean. These funds will be used for recovery efforts following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria on the 6th.
On Naver’s online donation platform, Happybean, donations for the recovery of Turkey and Syria continue to pour in. As of 9:30 a.m. on the 13th, 320,000 participants have donated a total of 5.8 billion won.

Meanwhile, Naver donated 1.5 billion won last August to aid recovery from heavy rain damage. It also donated 1.5 billion won in March last year for recovery from wildfires in Gangwon Province, and 1.5 billion won in 2020 for recovery from heavy rain damage. Naver has participated in efforts to overcome disaster situations, including campaigns to support recovery from the 2020 Australian wildfires.
