Gwangju Seo-gu Council Raises Donations for 'Turkey-Syria Earthquake' Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City is promoting a fundraising campaign to help the people of Turkey and Syria who suffered damage from the great earthquake.
The Seo-gu Council plans to collect donations from council members and secretariat staff and deliver them to the Gwangju branch of the Korean Red Cross on the morning of the 13th.
The funds will be used for local relief activities.
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae expressed, “We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria who suffered great damage from the sudden disaster,” and added, “We hope the local disaster victims will not lose hope until the end and can return to a peaceful daily life as soon as possible.”
