Goheung-gun Selected for 'Return-to-Farming and Fishing Village Harmony Village Development Project'

Selected Two Villages: Podu Singi Village and Gwayeok Hogok Village

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun announced that Singi Village in Podu-myeon and Hogok Village in Gwaryeok-myeon have been selected for the “Return-to-Farming and Fishing Villages Harmony Village Creation Project” hosted by Jeonnam Province, and each will receive 15 million won in project funding.

The Return-to-Farming and Fishing Villages Harmony Village Creation Project is conducted to resolve conflicts between returnees to farming and fishing villages and local residents, and to promote a warm community culture.

Jeonnam Province received project applications from 22 cities and counties within the province and finalized 13 cities and counties, selecting 26 villages as project targets.

The two selected villages plan to operate various integration programs from as early as next month until the end of the year, including creating flower paths, joint birthday parties and Parents' Day events for residents, and calligraphy activities.

A county official stated, “We will discover and actively support various policies that can harmonize local residents and returnees to farming and fishing villages, making Goheung a place where urban residents want to return to farming and live.”
