Yongin Techno Valley Public Wastewater Treatment Expansion from 700 Tons to 1550 Tons
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will expand the public wastewater treatment capacity of the Yongin Techno Valley General Industrial Complex in Idong-eup, Cheoin-gu from 700 tons to 1,550 tons.
Yongin City announced on the 10th that since the complex, completed in August 2020, is currently operating at 56% capacity and 650 tons of wastewater are being inflowed daily, it has been confirmed that capacity expansion is inevitable to prevent companies from suffering damages as more businesses move in. Therefore, the daily treatment capacity will be increased to 1,550 tons.
The city will invest a total of 6.4 billion KRW in this expansion. This includes 2.9 billion KRW in national subsidies and 3.5 billion KRW borne by the project implementer, Gyeonggi Yongin Techno Valley Co., Ltd.
Currently, 60% of the detailed design has been completed, with construction scheduled to begin in November and completion expected by September 2025.
In relation to this, on the 9th, the city signed a business agreement with the project implementer for the "Yongin Techno Valley Public Wastewater Treatment Facility Phase 2 Expansion Project" to ensure smooth project progress.
According to the agreement, the city will select the optimal construction method by reviewing the design through the Public Wastewater Treatment Facility Technical Review Committee, considering operational convenience, emergency response capability, and compatibility. The project implementer will carry out the design, safely construct the facility, and then hand it over.
