Captain Kim Hyeju Who Responded to COVID-19 in Daegu
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] South Korea has dispatched the Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT) to T?rkiye, where a large number of casualties occurred due to a strong earthquake. Among the team is Army Captain Kim Hye-ju, who showed great dedication during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020 while wearing a "nose band."
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 9th, the military sent 50 personnel from the Army Special Warfare Command and the Armed Forces Medical Command to the KDRT.
The Ministry of National Defense selected personnel focusing on search and rescue and emergency response capabilities, in response to the Turkish government's request to form a relief team centered on a search and rescue team.
Among the selected personnel from the Medical Command is Captain Kim, who moved many during the 2020 COVID-19 crisis in Daegu by wearing a "nose band." A photo of Captain Kim with a bandage on her nose, which had become sore from wearing protective gear and masks for extended periods, went viral on social media.
