[Activity] Hong Dong-gon, Nakdong River Authority Chief, Attends Southeast Region Fine Dust Research Center Opening Ceremony
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Yoon-jung] Hong Dong-gon, Director of the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, attended the opening ceremony of the Southeast Region Fine Dust Research and Management Center held at UNIST on the 9th.
UNIST was designated as the "Southeast Region Fine Dust Research and Management Center" in September last year under the "Special Act on Fine Dust Reduction and Management."
The center will carry out tasks such as investigation, research, education, and technology development aimed at preventing and managing health damage caused by fine dust in the Southeast Region management area.

On the same day, UNIST also held a "Voluntary Agreement Ceremony for Fine Dust Reduction" for air environment management in the Ulsan area.
The voluntary agreement involved the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office, Ulsan Metropolitan City, the Southeast Region Fine Dust Research and Management Center, and 31 companies in the Ulsan area.

The agreement organizations will actively promote and support implementation plans such as reduction amounts per company and annual reduction plans, aiming to reduce air pollutant emissions by about 40% compared to the baseline year for each company in 2023 and 2024.
