MOU with Hanoi National University and Autonomous Driving Competition Held
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-A University is accelerating the ‘globalization’ of its autonomous driving mobility education program. Following the operation of the education program in Vietnam, it is engaging in international exchanges by holding autonomous driving competitions and more.
The Dong-A University Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (LINC3.0, Director Park Jun-hong) announced on the 9th that it operated global programs such as global capstone design and technical seminars in Vietnam for students majoring in the university’s specialized field of ‘Smart Mobility’ convergence major.
Dong-A University and the College of Engineering at Hanoi National University of Vietnam also signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement (MOU) for global cooperation and technology exchange in the field of smart mobility education and research.
Through this MOU, the two universities will engage in technological cooperation and academic exchanges in the smart mobility field through joint projects and symposiums.

Additionally, to enhance practical knowledge of autonomous driving technology among students of both universities and strengthen exchanges for technological development in both countries, they held a competition using the deep learning autonomous driving kit ‘DeepRacer Evo.’
The two universities recently selected representative teams and held the final competition at the College of Engineering at Hanoi National University of Vietnam starting from the 2nd. The final victory was claimed by the Dong-A University student team consisting of Jeong Hee-cheol, Jeong Jae-young, Yoon Yong-won, and Kim Jeong-wook.
Professor Kim Jong-wook (responsible professor of Smart Mobility Convergence Major, Department of Electronic Engineering), who oversaw this program, said, “We will devote efforts to strengthening the capabilities of students in the Smart Mobility Convergence Major by supporting the winning team of this competition to participate in the ‘AWS DeepRacer Global Online Competition’ as well.”
Park Bo-jeong (3rd year, Department of Electronic Engineering), who participated in the competition, shared her thoughts, saying, “I had a valuable experience challenging the smart mobility field by directly experiencing machine learning and interacting with Vietnamese university students.”
