Korea Airports Corporation Provides Emergency Relief Funds to Airports Affected by Turkey Earthquake
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 8th that it has delivered relief funds of 50 million KRW through a global relief organization to restore airport facilities in Turkey damaged by a record-breaking earthquake measuring 7.8 in magnitude.
The Hatay Airport and Adıyaman Airport, which were damaged by this earthquake, are airports where the corporation supplied and installed the navigation equipment ILS developed by the corporation from 2010 to 2020. These airports have a close relationship with the corporation, including dispatching navigation equipment experts for on-site maintenance personnel training and support.
The corporation will first provide relief funds to restore these airports, which suffered damage such as runway destruction. It will also review technical support for navigation equipment and plans for new supply in the future.
