Sejong City Doubles Electric Vehicle Subsidies Compared to Last Year This Year
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City will double the electric vehicle subsidies compared to last year.
The city announced on the 7th that it will supply and support 1,100 zero-emission passenger cars this year to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
By vehicle type, there will be 969 electric vehicles and 131 hydrogen vehicles. The total supply volume increased by 96 units (9.5%) this year compared to last year (1,004 units).
In particular, the city will raise the local government subsidy for electric vehicles to 4 million KRW this year. Considering that last year's subsidy was 2 million KRW, this is double the amount.
Adding the government subsidy (6.8 million KRW as of last year), the total subsidy (local and national combined) for purchasing an electric vehicle in Sejong is expected to exceed 10 million KRW.
The government subsidy for electric vehicles is scheduled to be finalized by the end of this month.
The city expects that once the targeted subsidy support volume is fully supplied this year, the proportion of zero-emission passenger cars in the area will increase by 0.6 percentage points from 1.7% to 2.3%.
