Mutual Donations under the 'Hometown Love Donation System' between Dong-gu, Gwangju and Muan, Jeonnam
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 7th that it mutually donated with Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do to activate the system and strengthen win-win cooperation for the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System.
On this day, Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, visited NH Nonghyup Bank in Muan-gun with Kim San, Governor of Muan-gun, and donated hometown love donation funds to each local government, encouraging active participation.
With the active win-win steps of Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu whose hometown is Muan, and Kim San, Governor who considers Gwangju Dong-gu as his hometown of the heart, exchanges and cooperation between Gwangju and Jeonnam local governments are expected to be strengthened.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “Through this donation, I hope the Hometown Love Donation System will be revitalized and a sound donation culture will be formed,” and added, “We ask for active interest and participation in the Hometown Love Donation System for the revitalization of the local economy.”
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System is a system where individuals can donate up to 5 million KRW to regions other than their registered address and the funds are collected and used to improve residents' welfare.

Donors receive a full tax deduction up to 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% deduction on amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, and 30% of the donation amount is provided as a thank-you gift. The respective local governments use the donation funds to promote various linked projects.
