The Presidential Office announced that morning, "President Yoon instructed the prompt dispatch of rescue personnel using our military transport aircraft and the urgent provision of medical supplies, and to closely cooperate with Turkish authorities through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local diplomatic missions." It added, "Furthermore, President Yoon directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lead related ministries in actively considering additional support measures if further assistance is needed by Turkey."
Earlier that dawn, President Yoon also released a message saying, "I feel deeply sorrowful for the people of Turkey and Syria who are going through difficult times. Korea expresses its deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones." President Yoon has instructed the National Security Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare active humanitarian support plans for the disasters that occurred consecutively in Iran and Turkey.
