President Yoon Pledges "Active Humanitarian Support" for Turkey and Iran Earthquakes
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] President Yoon Suk-yeol instructed on the 6th to prepare humanitarian aid measures in response to the recent earthquake damages in Turkey and Iran.
The Presidential Office spokesperson stated on the same day, "President Yoon directed the National Security Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to actively prepare support measures on a humanitarian basis for the consecutive disasters in Iran and Turkey."
In the early morning (local time) of the day, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey, resulting in nearly 900 deaths and thousands of injuries in Turkey and Syria so far.
