Gwangju Buk-gu Operates 'Permanent School Uniform Sharing Market' for New Semester
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it will operate a permanent school uniform sharing market together with Buk-gu Saemaeul Association starting from the 8th.
The school uniform sharing market has been operated for 9 years since 2015 as part of the Bitgoeul Shared Buk-gu project to spread the culture of sharing and sharing, receiving great responses from parents.
In particular, in 2021, Buk-gu signed a business agreement to activate the school uniform sharing movement with Buk-gu Saemaeul Association and Dongbu Office of Education, establishing a permanent operation system for the school uniform sharing market.
The market sells school uniforms donated by local schools and residents at affordable prices such as shirts, blouses, pants, skirts, and vests for 3,000 won, and jackets for 5,000 won, with the proceeds donated annually to the Buk-gu Scholarship Foundation.
Operating hours are from 2 PM to 5 PM on weekdays during the peak season of February to March, and from April, it is open only on Tuesdays every week.
Moon In, head of Buk-gu Office, said, “The school uniform hand-me-down event has become a pillar of our district’s sharing culture with the help of Buk-gu Saemaeul Association,” and added, “I hope this school uniform sharing event will help family finances during these difficult economic times and serve as an opportunity to spread resource recycling and the spirit of sharing.”
