According to Bloomberg on the 31st (local time), a Porsche AG dealership in Yinchuan City, China recently posted an online advertisement for the latest model of Porsche's sports car, the Panamera.
The price listed in the advertisement was only about one-eighth of the actual price, at 124,000 yuan (approximately 22.61 million won). Upon discovering this shocking price, hundreds of consumers quickly flocked and paid a reservation deposit of 911 yuan (about 166,000 won).
The actual price of the model was 998,000 yuan (approximately 182 million won). This was not a special offer but a simple mistake by the dealership. However, rumors spread rapidly, and as reservations surged, the dealership realized the error and immediately corrected the advertisement.
There were already too many reservations, and the situation was reported to Porsche headquarters in Germany. Porsche contacted each reservation holder individually to explain the situation and apologize, and reportedly asked for understanding by promising to refund the deposits within 48 hours.
