Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Hosts Innovation Support Project Performance Exhibition and Workforce Development Forum
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik) will hold the ‘KIT Human Resources Development Forum’ and the ‘2022 Performance Exhibition’ of the Junior College Innovation Support Project for two days from the 31st to the 1st.
The events will be held under the theme of ‘University education changes for the completion of a world-class lifelong vocational education innovation university that coexists and develops with the local community,’ and will be conducted simultaneously online and offline at the Gyeongnam Information University Future Hall event site and via YouTube live streaming.
The forum began with a keynote speech by Lim Jun-woo, head of the Gyeongnam Information University Innovation Support Project Group, titled ‘Completion of a lifelong vocational education innovation university leading the 4th Industrial Revolution era based on Busan’s strategic industry foundation.’
Following this, presentations were given on the topics: ‘Activation plan for lifelong vocational education based on local-government-industry-academia cooperation’ by Won Gwang-hae, head of the local-government-industry-academia cooperation at Busan Technopark; ‘The direction universities should take regarding Busan’s strategic industries’ by Bae Soo-hyun, director of planning and coordination at Busan Research Institute; and ‘Direction of lifelong vocational education at junior colleges through local government cooperation’ by Yoon Young-seung, deputy director of the HiVE Center at Mokpo Science University. A discussion on ‘University innovation directions for activating lifelong vocational education based on the local community’ was also held.

View original imageAdditionally, the performance exhibition is held at the university’s Future Hall and the 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall, showcasing and sharing the achievements of Gyeongnam Information University’s competency-based curriculum innovation process.
Lim Jun-woo, head of the Innovation Support Project Group at Gyeongnam Information University, said, “All members united their efforts to innovate the university’s education and industry-academia cooperation organizations to nurture innovative talents, achieving good results. Going forward, Gyeongnam Information University will continue to do its best to cultivate talents by strengthening student competencies.”
