[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The representative of an outsourced construction company has been handed over to the prosecution following an accident in which a worker fell while repairing the old roof of a factory building.
The Damyang Police Station in Jeonnam sent Mr. A, in his 60s, to the prosecution on the 27th on charges including professional negligence resulting in death and violation of the Framework Act on the Construction Industry.
On September 22 last year, at around 2:57 p.m., a worker repairing the roof at a manufacturing factory in Daejeon-myeon, Damyang-gun, Jeonnam, fell to his death. Mr. A has been under police investigation as the person responsible for the accident.
The police determined that the accident occurred because Mr. A did not follow safety accident prevention regulations. Additionally, Mr. A was charged with operating an unlicensed construction company for taking on construction work without permission.
