According to the report, on the occasion of Australia's national day, President Xi sent a congratulatory message to David Hurley, Governor-General of Australia, stating that China places great importance on the development of bilateral relations and hopes that both sides will strengthen dialogue and deepen cooperation based on mutual respect, reciprocity, and the principle of seeking common ground while reserving differences (求同存異).
President Xi also mentioned the need to jointly advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia and to strive to benefit the peoples of both countries further. Additionally, he evaluated that the two countries, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year, took the opportunity to reflect on the past and look toward the future while making efforts to improve their relationship.
