Gwangju Police Agency Conducts Search and Seizure at NongHyup and Ministry of the Interior on Embezzlement Charges
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Police Agency conducted a search and seizure targeting a local Nonghyup and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on charges including embezzlement.
The Anti-Corruption Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Police Agency announced on the 26th that it executed search warrants at a Nonghyup in the jurisdiction and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the Government Sejong Complex.
It is reported that the investigation was launched after detecting suspicions that an executive of the Nonghyup committed embezzlement crimes and hiring irregularities while conducting various projects.
There are also allegations of misconduct that the head of the cooperative exchanged money and valuables with officials of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in connection with government medals.
