Crisp and Sweet 'Fruit Snacks', Gyeongnam Province Will Take Responsibility!
Starting February, 65,100 Infants and Toddlers in Daycare Centers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do will provide seasonal fruit snacks produced locally to 65,100 infants and toddlers at 2,154 daycare centers in the province starting from February.
According to Gyeongsangnam-do on the 26th, this project, a pledge by Governor Park Wan-su, will be implemented from this year to improve children's eating habits, provide balanced nutrition, and promote fruit consumption to secure sales channels and increase income for local farmers.
The province plans to supply 270 tons in total by providing 100g of locally produced seasonal fruits preferred by infants and toddlers at daycare centers once a week, 45 times a year.
Certified agricultural products under the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) system will be supplied, including 10 types of fruits such as apples, pears, persimmons, tangerines, grapes, and peaches, and 6 types of fruit vegetables such as tomatoes, strawberries, Korean melons (chamoe), watermelons, and melons, totaling 16 items.
A provincial official stated that the project direction and support plan were prepared through a consultation meeting involving 38 participants, including the Provincial Pledge Evaluation Group from last year, the Gyeongsangnam-do Daycare Center Association, executives from 18 city and county daycare center associations, and officials from the province and city/county offices.
