New COVID-19 Cases at 35,096... 5,300 More Than Last Week (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 26th at midnight that 35,096 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 30,075,652.
The number of new cases increased by 15,558 compared to the previous day (19,538). Compared to a week ago on the 19th (29,806), it also increased by 5,290. This is believed to be due to a temporary rise in cases caused by increased movement during the Seollal holiday period.
Among the new cases, 34 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 7 to 489 compared to the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 400s for nine consecutive days.
There were 26 additional COVID-19 related deaths reported, bringing the total deaths to 33,296, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
