LG Uplus Launches 'Chunsik-i' Kids Phone... Even Helps Build Financial Habits
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced that it will exclusively launch the child-only device “U+ Kids Phone with Chunsiki” on the 27th, which helps children develop proper financial habits and smartphone usage habits.
The U+ Kids Phone with Chunsiki is the sixth smartphone exclusively for preschoolers and elementary school students released by LG Uplus, following the “U+ Kids Phone with Little Kakao Friends” launched in January last year. This kids phone, based on Samsung Electronics’ “Galaxy XCover 5” model, features Kakao’s most popular character Chunsiki on the wallpaper and theme.
The product package includes ▲two dedicated cases (character case and transparent card case) ▲shoulder strap ▲screen protector film ▲two coloring papers for coloring play ▲keyring. The colors are available in white and mint. The retail price is 322,000 KRW.

This kids phone is characterized by pre-installing Hana Bank’s financial app “iBuja” to help children develop financial habits, and improving the functions of the app “U+ Kiwi Play,” which helps cultivate proper smartphone usage habits.
Hana Bank’s iBuja app helps children experience financial life on their own and develop proper habits. Its main features include four functions: ▲Saving (allowance, missions, savings) ▲Spending (payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals) ▲Growing (stock investment experience) ▲Sharing (donations), and parents can also use it together to communicate with their children.
Customers using iBuja can also receive the rechargeable prepaid card “LG Uplus Muneo Card” linked to the app. The card, featuring LG Uplus’s representative character “Muneo,” can be issued in the child’s own name. It supports planned spending with a daily payment limit of 50,000 KRW and a monthly limit of 500,000 KRW. LG Uplus mobile customers can issue the card non-face-to-face through the app.
Pre-installed along with iBuja, U+ Kiwi Play is a child protection app developed in collaboration between LG Uplus and “Kiwi Plus.” The newly updated U+ Kiwi Play has intuitively improved the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to enhance ease of use. It allows parents to easily check their child’s smartphone usage history and school news.
Additionally, it strengthens child protection functions through features such as ▲displaying the child’s movement routes ▲monitoring app usage time ▲improving harmful content blocking. Other features include “Click, Habit Building,” where children set habits and upload verification photos to receive rewards from parents, remote control of sound and vibration, and content to prevent smartphone overdependence, helping children form proper smartphone usage habits.
Meanwhile, LG Uplus is holding an event until the end of this month to commemorate the launch of the kids phone on its official online mall “Uplus.com.” Customers who purchase online and leave a review using a separate form provided by the company will receive 40,000 KRW in KakaoPay Money. The event runs until the 7th of next month.
