Former CEOs of Korea's 'Two Major Portals' Join Dr. Now as Outside Directors

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Remote medical platform Doctor Now announced on the 26th that it has appointed Kim Sang-hun, former CEO of Naver, and Yeo Min-soo, former CEO of Kakao, as outside directors.
Through the recruitment of outside directors from domestic big tech companies, Doctor Now plans to implant insights into the overall industry and customer experience-centered know-how, while establishing a long-term growth strategy.
Director Kim has experience overseeing overall operations as CEO of Naver for eight years from 2009 to 2017. Before Naver, he served as a judge at the Seoul District Court and was in charge of the legal department at LG Group. He is currently also serving as vice chairman of Woowa Brothers.
Director Yeo is a business expert who has held executive positions in business divisions at NHN, eBay Korea, and LG Electronics, and served as CEO of Kakao. Director Yeo said, "I was captivated by Doctor Now's positive social impact, such as addressing customers' deficiencies and enhancing the importance of medical professionals. We will add digital experiences to telemedicine and overall medical services to present a vision that responds to the future."

Doctor Now currently collaborates with over 2,500 affiliated hospitals and clinics to offer telemedicine and prescription drug delivery services. It has received high evaluations for medical service innovation and contributions to public convenience, completing cumulative investments of 52 billion KRW from prominent venture capitalists (VCs) such as Mirae Asset, SoftBank Ventures, Primer Saz?, Saehan Startup Investment, and Crit Ventures. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it contributed to alleviating medical gaps, and its application (app) has surpassed 4 million cumulative downloads.
