Jindo-gun Strengthens Livestock Infectious Disease Prevention Measures
Maintaining a Disease-Free Clean Area Since 2016
[Jindo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Namjung] Jindo County, Jeollanam-do is concentrating administrative efforts to prevent highly pathogenic avian influenza.
According to the county on the 25th, they conducted thorough disinfection of farms, livestock facilities, and vehicles before and after the Lunar New Year holiday, and promoted refraining from visiting livestock farms among returning holiday travelers.

In addition, they are focusing all efforts on quarantine activities to suppress the outbreak of livestock infectious diseases during winter by strengthening surveillance along with guidance on compliance with basic quarantine rules such as cleaning and disinfecting inside and outside poultry farm barns.
In particular, since October last year, a special quarantine period has been set to prevent highly pathogenic avian influenza, operating a quarantine countermeasures situation room, supporting disinfection around farms, and running key disinfection facilities and farm checkpoints.
Through systematic and continuous quarantine activities, Jindo County has maintained a clean area free from infectious diseases such as avian influenza since 2016.
A Jindo County Jindo Dog Livestock Division official stated, “We will continue to focus administrative efforts to maintain Jindo County as a clean area free from livestock infectious diseases through proactive quarantine promotion.”
