[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man who used drugs at his home was arrested by the police.
On the 25th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul is investigating a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and other offenses.
Mr. A was urgently arrested by the police on the 21st at around 12 PM for using narcotics at a residence in Guui-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The police, who responded to a 112 emergency call, reportedly seized 17 syringes from Mr. A’s residence and vehicle. It was confirmed that Mr. A tested positive in a preliminary drug test and admitted to drug use during the police investigation.
The police requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A, but the court dismissed it, so the investigation will continue without detention. It was confirmed that the court dismissed the warrant on the grounds that there was "no risk of evidence destruction or flight."
