Japan Considers Hosting G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in February
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] Japan is considering holding a G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Germany next month.
According to a report by Kyodo News on the 20th, the Japanese government is coordinating plans to hold a G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in conjunction with the Munich Security Conference, which Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi is scheduled to attend in mid-next month. The meeting was initiated in response to the Ukraine war that began on February 24 last year.
The Japanese government is expected to criticize Russia at the meeting and strengthen resolutions to support Ukraine. Additionally, it plans to reaffirm the importance of maintaining the international order based on the rule of law.
