[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Hyun-ki, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (People Power Party, Gangnam 3rd District), immediately rushed to the scene of the fire that occurred in Guryong Village early on the 20th to assess the situation.
He urged Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, the Fire Headquarters Chief, and other officials to ensure thorough protection measures for the displaced residents, including housing, as well as to take all necessary follow-up actions.
Guryong Village is Chairman Kim's constituency. Around 6:40 a.m., he was informed of the fire by residents and arrived at the scene around 6:50 a.m. to assess the situation.

The fire occurred in Section 4 of Guryong Village, and no casualties have been confirmed so far. The fire authorities have urgently evacuated 450 to 500 people.
