The Provincial Police Agency announced on the 19th that during the surprise drunk driving crackdown conducted across the province from 1 PM to 3 PM that day, one license cancellation and two license suspensions were detected.
According to the Provincial Police Agency, a driver with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.132% was caught in Gimhae and had their license canceled, while in Geochang and Jinju, drivers with 0.065% and 0.049% BAC respectively had their licenses suspended.
In Changnyeong, drivers with blood alcohol concentrations of 0.025% and 0.018% were caught but were let off with a warning as their levels were below the punishment threshold of 0.03%.
The Provincial Police Agency has been conducting intensive drunk driving crackdowns from December 1 of last year until the 31st of this month.
On the 20th, the provincial police station riot squads and the Provincial Police Agency’s undercover patrol crackdown teams are scheduled to conduct joint crackdowns before the Lunar New Year holiday.
