Artists Invited to Korea "Hoping Your Message is Delivered"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] First Lady Kim Keon-hee, who is staying in Switzerland with President Yoon Suk-yeol attending the World Economic Forum (WEF, Davos Forum), met with artists from various fields on the 18th (local time) and stated, "I believe you and artists are revolutionaries who change the world."
On the same day, First Lady Kim met with artists from various fields invited to the 'Artist Leaders' event held at the Davos Congress Center in Switzerland on the occasion of the Davos Forum annual meeting, according to a written briefing by Chief of Public Relations Kim Eun-hye.
Chief Kim explained that this event was a spouse program prepared by Mrs. Hilde Schwab, wife of Klaus Schwab, WEF chairman, for First Lady Kim Keon-hee, who visited the Davos Forum.

The meeting included video artist Imi Humes, who advocates for women's social participation; singer-songwriter Akinoam Nini (Noa) and guitarist Gil Dor, who sing for peace; photographer Antoniou Platon, who addresses human rights issues; artist Max Frieder, who heals refugee children through art; Carol Becker, dean of Columbia University School of the Arts, who nurtures young artists; and interdisciplinary artist Sarah Cameron Sund, who urges climate crisis response through photography.
First Lady Kim expressed to them, "Art is a lonely and difficult endeavor, but I am confident that the messages you convey will ultimately resonate more profoundly with the world than anything else."
The attending artists also told First Lady Kim Keon-hee, "Although there may be difficulties due to the current role you are given, encouraging artists and communicating together like this is another form of creative activity," adding, "Spreading positive influence through art is also a very valuable role you can fulfill as First Lady."
First Lady Kim proposed, "Artists are those who raise the issues of the times. I would like to invite you to Korea so that your meaningful messages can be well conveyed to Koreans as well."
