Kia Wins Two Awards at India Car of the Year... Carens and EV6 Honored
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia announced on the 15th that the Carens was selected as the ‘2023 India Car of the Year,’ the most prestigious award in India. Additionally, the dedicated electric vehicle EV6 was chosen in the Green Car category.
This achievement was reached about 3 years and 5 months after Kia officially entered the Indian market by launching the Seltos in August 2019.
The India Car of the Year is the most prestigious award in the automotive sector in India and plays a significant role in local consumers' new car purchasing decisions. The India Car of the Year judging panel, composed of 18 automotive journalists, evaluates newly released cars each year based on price, fuel efficiency, design, technological innovation, safety, driving performance, and practicality to select the winner.
This year, the Kia Carens won the India Car of the Year, beating the Mahindra Scorpio N and Maruti Grand Vitara, while the Kia EV6 topped the Green Car category, surpassing the Tata Tiago EV and Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid.

Meanwhile, Kia recorded sales of over 250,000 units in the Indian market last year. Among them, the Carens sold more than 62,000 units, receiving great love from local customers.
