[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will invest 186.5 billion KRW this year to promote construction projects for a total of 49 national and local roads within the province.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Construction Headquarters announced on the 15th that it will invest a total of 186.5 billion KRW in construction projects for 49 national and local roads, including 28 sites (119.6 km) in southern Gyeonggi and 21 sites (87.6 km) in northern Gyeonggi this year.
The Construction Headquarters will first commence construction this year on four sites, including the widening and paving project of Local Road No. 306 from Anseong Gosam to Samjuk 1. For five sites, including the widening and paving project of Local Road No. 371 from Yeoncheon Jeokseong to Du-il, completion is planned within the year. Among these, the widening and paving project of National Road No. 98 from Onam to Sudong will be partially opened due to additional work caused by the implementation of the Onam Intersection grade separation.
Additionally, for road projects delayed for a long time due to budget shortages and other reasons, alternative plans will be prepared in consultation with related agencies.

Kim Gyo-heung, head of the Provincial Construction Headquarters, stated, "Although the budget for Gyeonggi Province’s road construction projects this year has been increased by 22% compared to last year’s main budget, we will focus on promptly advancing ongoing projects rather than new ones and concentrate on safe site management. Safely completing road construction and providing it to residents is the most important, and we will do our best to ensure that this year’s planned goals are smoothly achieved."
