Busan Urban Brand Committee Decides New Slogan
25,220 Citizens Participate, Most Votes for Preference
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] A new urban brand slogan has been born in Busan!
On the 13th at 2 p.m., Busan held the Busan Urban Brand Committee meeting and selected “Busan is Good (Busanira jota)” as the final urban slogan among the three final candidates.
The final selected slogan, “Busan is Good (Busanira jota),” received the most votes in an online and offline citizen preference survey, gaining strong support from the citizens.
The Busan Urban Brand Committee also actively reflected these citizen opinions and decided on “Busan is Good” as Busan’s new urban slogan.
A total of 25,220 citizens participated in the slogan preference survey conducted by the city from the 4th, voting on the three final slogan candidates. The voting results showed ▲‘Busan is Good’ received 11,373 votes, ranking first, ▲‘Bridge for All, Busan’ received 10,981 votes, and ▲‘True Place, Busan’ received 2,866 votes.
In particular, the final selected “Busan is Good (Busanira jota)” was praised for expressing pride and satisfaction in Busan with the word ‘Good’ and for its high usability as a flexible slogan, such as ‘Busan is good for Expo’ and ‘Busan is good to live.’
Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, said, “Nearly 40,000 citizens and experts participated in selecting Busan’s new urban brand slogan,” and added, “I am grateful for the passionate interest and participation.”
He continued, “Based on brand design development and a strong promotional strategy, we will present a world-class urban brand that surpasses New York’s (I♥NY).”
On the same day at 4 p.m., Busan held the third meeting of the Busan Urban Brand Expert Group (Sangsang Gopagi x), composed of 11 top domestic brand experts, focusing on trends in domestic and international urban brands and directions for slogan design development.
