Busan Office of Education Conducts SW and AI Education for Multicultural Students
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct 'Visiting SW·AI Education' for 120 elementary school students from multicultural families until February 1.
This SW·AI education is aimed at bridging the digital divide for underprivileged groups, following the 'Coding Education Promotion Plan for Nurturing Creative Future Talents with Computational Thinking' established by the Busan Office of Education in August last year, and started on the 3rd.
Elementary school students from multicultural families are participating in the 'Visiting SW·AI Education' program and attending the classes.

The education is conducted for Korean language classes at 10 schools, including Namhang Elementary School, where elementary students from multicultural families attend, and teachers from the respective schools participate as assistant instructors to support students who have difficulty communicating.

Han Jong-hwan, Director of the Future Talent Education Division at the city education office, said, "This education will be a good opportunity for students from multicultural families to develop interest in school SW·AI education," and added, "The Busan Office of Education will continue to operate various SW·AI education programs targeting underprivileged groups."
