Boseong-gun Promotes 7 Support Projects to Help Returning Farmers Settle
The Start of Returning to Farming, Agricultural Startup Support in Boseong
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will support the 2023 Farming Settlement Incentive, Farmhouse Repair Costs, and Young Farmer Agricultural Startups until the 27th to help new return-to-farming residents successfully settle in the area.
The support targets household heads aged 65 or younger who have been engaged in agriculture, have continuously lived outside rural areas for more than one year based on the date of moving into a rural area, and have moved to Boseong-gun within the last five years.
The farming startup and house purchase support project offers low-interest loans at around 1.5% interest, up to 300 million KRW, for initial settlement costs such as farming infrastructure and food manufacturing and processing facilities. Loans up to 75 million KRW are available for house purchase and new construction.
Boseong-gun expects to foster new agricultural manpower and revitalize rural vitality such as agricultural startups and regional economic activation by creating stable rural settlement conditions for new return-to-farming residents through these support measures.
Meanwhile, the number of return-to-farming residents in Boseong-gun is currently counted at 1,683 households and 2,487 people. The county actively operates the Return-to-Farming and Rural Support Center, where advice and counseling from experienced returnees are available; eight temporary stay facilities called Return-to-Farming Houses; and the ‘Try Living in Jeonnam in Advance Program,’ which allows residents to live in Boseong for a certain period to experience rural life, acquire farming skills, and explore conditions for purchasing farmland and houses.
