Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Crackdown on Illegal Filming at 48 Locations Including Lodging Businesses
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 12th that from the 16th to the 20th, it will conduct a joint crackdown with the Yeonggwang Police Station on illegal filming in local lodging establishments.
This crackdown was promoted as a preemptive response to the recent social issue of illegal filming in lodging establishments to prevent crimes and alleviate users' anxiety.
The county formed a joint inspection team with the county office hygiene team and the Yeonggwang Police Station Women and Youth Team to inspect 48 local establishments for the installation of disguised or miniature hidden cameras in rooms. Education on how to identify hidden cameras will also be provided to lodging business owners (managers).
They will also check compliance with the Public Health Control Act, such as posting lodging price lists and room cleanliness, as well as inspect lodging facilities and quarantine rules. Minor issues and those that can be immediately corrected will be guided on-site.
Governor Kang Jongman said, “We will do our best to ensure that residents and users can safely use lodging establishments through continuous inspections as well as this joint crackdown.”
