Hypertension and diabetes patients aged 65 or older (born on or before December 31, 1958) residing in the registered local area can apply for the project at participating clinics and pharmacies involved in the hypertension and diabetes registration management project, and receive support of 1,500 KRW per month for medical consultation fees and 2,000 KRW per disease for medication costs.
Participating medical institutions can be checked on the Pohang City Nam-gu Health Center website.
The Pohang City Hypertension and Diabetes Registration Education Center provides systematic registered patient management services (disease and nutrition education and counseling, recall and reminder services, etc.) for registered hypertension and diabetes patients aged 30 and older (born on or before December 31, 1993).
The hypertension and diabetes registration management project is conducted annually, and to respond to the increasing number of patients, the project scale was expanded, supporting more than 1 billion KRW in medical expenses last year alone.
Kim Jeong-im, director of Nam-gu Health Center, said, “Through proper management of hypertension and diabetes, we will actively strive to delay the onset of severe diseases and reduce the economic burden on the elderly so they can enjoy a healthy old age.”
