Busan Port Authority Publishes First Human Rights Management Report ... BPA's Efforts and Achievements in Human Rights Management Included
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) published its first "Human Rights Management Report" on the 10th.
The "Human Rights Management Report" includes the human rights management promotion system, achievements, and human rights risk management in accordance with the National Human Rights Commission's decision on the "Recommendation for Applying Human Rights Management Reporting and Evaluation Guidelines."
Since being selected as a pilot institution for the public institution human rights management manual in 2018, BPA has continuously operated a human rights management system by carrying out activities to protect and promote human rights for internal and external stakeholders.
Throughout 2022, BPA made efforts to identify and resolve human rights vulnerabilities among various stakeholders, including port and construction site workers, partner companies, local communities, and internal employees.
In particular, efforts to improve working conditions, such as listening to and resolving stakeholders' difficulties through the "Visiting Human Rights Counseling Center," supporting the establishment of safety and health systems for partner companies, and providing wearable cameras to workers handling civil complaints, have been recognized as major achievements.
As a result, BPA has obtained human rights management system certification for four consecutive years.
