Coinone Passes Post-Certification Audit for Information Security Management System
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Coinone, a domestic virtual asset exchange, announced on the 10th that it has passed the follow-up audits for both the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and the international standard information security certification (ISO27001).
ISMS is an information security management system designed to protect key information assets from security threats. It is overseen by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and is a mandatory requirement for virtual asset operators under the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information. To obtain ISMS certification, a total of 80 conformity assessment items must be passed, including 16 items related to establishing and operating the information security management system and 64 items related to protection measures. With this follow-up audit pass, Coinone has maintained its ISMS certification for four consecutive years since first acquiring it in December 2018.
Additionally, Coinone has passed the ISO27001 certification follow-up audit for three consecutive years. ISO27001 is an international standard for information security management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It requires compliance with 11 areas related to information security, including information security policies, physical security, and information access control, covering 133 management criteria.
