Seongsanjin, Mayor of Seongnam, to Visit the US on the 6th... Signing Friendship and Cooperation Agreement with Fullerton City
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Shin Sang-jin, mayor of Seongnam City, departed for the United States on the 6th to sign a friendship and cooperation agreement with Fullerton City. Previously, the two regions exchanged letters of intent for exchange at Seongnam City Hall in September last year.
Mayor Shin was originally scheduled to depart on the 3rd to encourage Seongnam-based companies participating in the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, USA. However, due to a quasi-budget crisis, he canceled this plan and decided to proceed only with the visit to Fullerton City, where the exchange schedule had been coordinated for several months.
Mayor Shin stated, "We judged that if Seongnam City does not promote exchanges based on the principle of mutual benefit, the advancement of intercity relations would be postponed and international credibility could significantly decline. We have also activated the preemptive disposal authority due to the quasi-budget formulation to minimize citizen damage. Accordingly, we decided that it would be best to at least visit Fullerton City and thus made the business trip decision."
