Democratic Peaceful Unification Advisory Council Namwon-si Chapter Selected as Outstanding Council, Receives 'Chairman's Commendation'

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] The National Unification Advisory Council (‘hereinafter referred to as the National Unification Council’) announced on the 6th that it held the ‘Chairman (President) Commendation Award Ceremony’ at the Baekbeom Kim Gu Memorial Hall Convention Hall in Seoul on the 4th.

At the award ceremony, the Namwon City Council of the National Unification Council was selected as an outstanding council and received the Chairman (President) group commendation, while advisory members Jeon Pyeong-gi (Chairman of Namwon City Council) and Jo Tae-bong (Vice Chairman of the National Unification Council Namwon City Council) received individual commendations.

The Namwon City Council of the National Unification Council was recognized for its contribution to realizing a free, peaceful, and prosperous Korean Peninsula through peace unification activities based on the free democratic basic order.

Ko Myung-cheol, Chairman of the Namwon City Council, said, “In the future, the Namwon City Council of the National Unification Council will continue to gather diverse public opinions, show interest and make suggestions regarding the current government’s overall unification policy, and take the lead in continuous unification activities and preparations for future unification.”

Advisory member Jeon Pyeong-gi (Chairman of Namwon City Council) was evaluated for leading the consolidation of local residents’ will for unification, developing various new unification-related projects, and taking the lead in securing additional related budgets, contributing to the reestablishment of the functions and roles of the Namwon City Council.

Advisory member Jo Tae-bong was honored with the award in recognition of his active activities as the Vice Chairman of the National Unification Council Namwon City Council.

The National Unification Council is a presidential advisory body stipulated in Article 92 of the Constitution, and its advisory members serve as unpaid honorary positions.
