Hampyeong-gun Selects 93 Return Gifts, Full-Scale Implementation of Hometown Love Donation Program
21 People Donated 6.79 Million Won from 1st to 4th, Provided Hampyeong Cheonji Hanwoo and Drive-in Theater Tickets
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County in Jeonnam announced the full-scale implementation of the ‘Hometown Love Donation System,’ which will serve as a strong pillar for regional development.
According to the county on the 5th, the Hometown Love Donation System is a program that allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their registered residential address.
Donors receive a tax credit on their donations along with a gift equivalent to 30% of the donation amount.
The county selected 93 items as gifts, including ▲Hampyeong Nabi Rice ▲Hampyeong Cheonji Hanwoo (Korean beef) ▲Red Mountain ▲Pumpkin ▲Drive-in Theater Tickets ▲Freshwater Eel ▲Mixed Grains Set.
During the first four days of implementation, from the 1st to the 4th, a total of 21 people donated 6.79 million KRW, demonstrating their love for their hometown.
So far, 20 donors contributed less than 100,000 KRW, and one donor gave the maximum annual donation amount of 5 million KRW.
The donations will be used to improve residents’ welfare by supporting socially vulnerable groups, protecting and nurturing youth, promoting culture and health welfare, and revitalizing the local community.
