Yoon Hee-sook: "Embarrassing People Power Party Convention... Fighting Over 'Who Is Close to Whom'"
"Not Showing Off Friendship, Want to See a True Battle of Ideas"
Harsh Criticism of Jeon Dae in CBS Radio Interview
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Former People Power Party lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook criticized the competition among the party leadership candidates to flaunt their friendships ahead of the party convention as "embarrassing."
On the 4th, Yoon appeared on CBS Radio's Park Jae-hong's One-on-One and said, "The party convention to elect the face of the party is a feast of ideas, a feast for party members. We should be showcasing our party's thoughts and vision to the public, but the current situation is far from expectations," expressing this criticism.

This is interpreted as expressing concern over the so-called 'Yoonshim (President Yoon Seok-yeol's intention) catching competition' among the party leadership candidates becoming overheated.
Having met with party members last December, Yoon advised, "Party members think very strategically. Even without flaunting closeness to the president, party members naturally choose candidates who can work well with the president because they want the country and the party to succeed."

She then expressed her hope to the party leadership candidates, saying, "It would be good if messages came out about how they think about the big directions discussed at the presidential office, how they will supplement them, and how they will move forward together," adding, "I want to see a genuine battle of ideas."
