Hamyang-gun Supports Health Checkup Costs for Prospective and Newlywed Couples

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province is implementing a health checkup expense support project for prospective and newlywed couples to help ensure healthy pregnancies and childbirths.
The support targets prospective couples preparing for marriage or newlywed couples within three years from the date of marriage registration, with at least one spouse registered as a resident in the jurisdiction as of the application date.
The support covers designated pregnancy-related checkup items, providing financial assistance for out-of-pocket expenses up to 200,000 KRW for women and 100,000 KRW for men.
The application procedure requires first undergoing a checkup at a nationwide medical institution and then claiming the checkup expenses at the public health center.
Common required documents include the checkup recipient’s ID, medical expense receipt, detailed statement of medical expenses, and a copy of the bankbook. Prospective couples must submit a wedding invitation or wedding hall contract, while newlywed couples must provide a marriage certificate or resident registration copy.
