Ministry of Health and Welfare Holds Inauguration Ceremony for New Department of Disability Health

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] On the 4th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held a plaque ceremony to commemorate the establishment of the Department of Disabled Health.
The Department of Disabled Health carries out projects to promote the health of persons with disabilities in accordance with the "Act on Guarantee of Health Rights and Medical Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities," and establishes and manages the delivery system, including the designation of regional health and medical centers for persons with disabilities.
It also builds rehabilitation and medical infrastructure for persons with disabilities, such as rehabilitation hospitals and base hospitals for persons with developmental disabilities, and comprehensively manages welfare and health projects related to disabled health, including assistive devices and medical expense support for persons with disabilities.
