On the 4th (local time), ahead of the opening of CES 2023, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition, LG Electronics unveiled the LG SIGNATURE OLED M, which condenses 10 years of OLED technology and design, for the first time at a press conference held in Las Vegas, USA. It is equipped with a wireless solution that supports 4K (3840×2160) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate video transmission for the world's largest existing 97-inch (approximately 245 cm diagonal) OLED TV. It is a TV that can be enjoyed without cables.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED M consists of the TV main body and a ‘Zero Connect Box’ that enables wireless transmission of 4K·120Hz high-definition video within about 10 meters (based on the front of the screen). The Zero Connect Box is an AV transmission box that supports ▲HDMI 2.1 ▲USB ▲RF ▲LAN ports ▲Bluetooth, allowing connection of various peripheral devices such as consoles and soundbars.
The wireless AV transmission solution, developed with LG Electronics' proprietary technology, transmits large amounts of data at speeds up to three times faster than existing Wi-Fi 6. In particular, it supports both Dolby Vision video technology and Dolby Atmos audio technology from Dolby, a specialized brand in video and audio technology, even in wireless environments. The Zero Connect Box can adjust the antenna's transmission direction depending on its placement. It is also equipped with an algorithm that recognizes obstacles in real time and sets the optimal radio wave transmission and reception path, allowing smooth video enjoyment without interruption even when people move between the TV main body and the box and block the radio waves.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED M fully embodies 10 years of LG OLED technology and design innovation. This product follows LG SIGNATURE OLED TV (2016), which attached only a thin tempered glass sheet behind the panel; the wallpaper LG SIGNATURE OLED W (2017), which is less than 4mm thick; the world's first 8K OLED TV, LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K (2019); and the world's first rollable TV, LG SIGNATURE OLED R (2020), making it LG Electronics' fifth LG SIGNATURE OLED TV.
