Ministry of the Interior and Safety to Conduct Safety Inspection of Collapsed Sindorim Overpass
Comprehensive Safety Inspection of Similar Facilities by Local Governments Conducted
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 4th that it will conduct a safety inspection starting from the 4th in relation to the pedestrian overpass near Sindorim Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, which collapsed the previous day.
Regarding the facility, the ministry plans to examine, together with private experts (structural engineers), whether there were any issues during the design, construction, and maintenance stages. Additionally, they will inspect whether the Safety Report Center's reception and processing were conducted promptly and appropriately.
Furthermore, a full inspection will be carried out on similar facilities managed by local governments to ensure safety.
