SK Shielders Obtains International Standard ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management System
Recognition of Efforts to Establish Environmental Management System
Electric Vehicle Transition Following 'Net Zero 2040' Declaration
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] SK Shieldus (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 4th that it has obtained the 'ISO 14001' certification, the international standard for environmental management systems, in recognition of its systematic promotion of eco-friendly management.
ISO 14001 is an international standard certification for environmental management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It comprehensively evaluates whether a company has established environmental management policies and goals and has an organized management system to achieve them, and grants certification accordingly.
SK Shieldus obtained ISO 14001 from the global certification body Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) on the 26th of last month after being evaluated on the implementation of environmental management, improvement efforts, and compliance with regulations. In particular, the positive factor was presenting a concrete roadmap for building an environmental management system with management policies focused on climate change response, circular economy practices, and energy efficiency improvement.
SK Shieldus plans to accelerate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management to become an environmentally friendly company starting with this certification. First, in line with the 'Net Zero 2040' plan declared last year, it will expand the transition of company vehicles to electric vehicles and also expand the 'Recycling policy' to reduce waste generated during service processes, including the development of products using recycled materials.
